Obedience Class Descriptions

 Dog 101 – A great basic obedience class! The class is centered on learning how to communicate with your canine companion. We cover basic obedience behaviors (sit, down, stay, coming when called, loose leash walking, etc). We also work on basic house manners and specific issues you may currently have. All dogs must be on leash.

Intermediate Fun – This is a 5-week intermediate obedience class with an open lesson plan. Every week we will learn something new and exciting from Traditional Obedience exercises (retrieving, jumping, stays), to Rally Obedience, to clicker and trick training. The lesson plan is based around what the students would like to cover, and in some cases will include transitioning to off leash work.

Obedience Excellence – This class is not for the faint of heart. The goal of this class is “proofing” – making your current obedience commands flawless and dependable. We’ll work on “perfect position” , down stays amid bouncing tennis balls, and heeling around open containers of cat food. This is a challenging class, but lots of fun!

Canine Good Citizen – This is a 5-week class based on the test items for the Canine Good Citizen test. Tests can be scheduled at the end of the class with a minimum number of dogs.

Rally Introduction – A 5 week class that introduces Rally obedience. We cover Rally fundamentals including Lvl 1 APDT and / or Novice AKC signs.

Rally 2 – A 5 week class covering the Lvl 2 APDT and / or Advanced AKC signs. This class allows you to polish your Rally skills and helps you make the transition to off leash work.

Rally On! – A 5 week class covering the Lvl 3 APDT and / or Excellent AKC signs. We’ll continue to work on off leash skills, and polish the lower level exercises.
